It gives us a great pleasure to extend our warm  invitation to participate in the International Conference on Engineering Vibration, ICoEV 2020, which will be held in Aberdeen between 18 and 21 August 2020. The conference will take place in the magnificent King's College Conference Centre (KCCC) of the University of Aberdeen. KCCC is located in the main campus of the University of Aberdeen and being a part of the historic buildings dating back to 15th century.


The University of Aberdeen is founded in 1495 by William Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen and Chancellor of Scotland and it is Scotland's third oldest and the UK's fifth oldest university. It has a student population of over 14,500, a large international community drawn from more than 130 different countries. Teaching at the University of Aberdeen is organised across 12 schools which encompass a broad range of disciplines. Multidisciplinary research centres and institutes bring together experts at the cutting-edge of their fields to work with colleagues across the UK and beyond on the big issues of today. There are five Nobel Laureates associated with the University of Aberdeen.


Aberdeen located in the north east of Scotland is a vibrant, creative and ambitious city, known for its historic charm and cosmopolitan community. Aberdeen has something for everyone, from the bustling city centre of Europe’s Energy Capital, to beautiful countryside and coastlines. It's also known as the ‘Granite City’ for its many enduring grey-stone buildings.


ICoEV conference series originates from a long running series of International Conferences on Vibrational Problems (ICoVP) and has started with the ICoEV 2015 held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The second ICoEV 2017 took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. ICoEV 2015 and 2017 had attracted leading researchers and practitioners from various areas of engineering vibration. The scope of these conference include but is not limited to the following areas:

  • Dynamics of composite structures
  • Vibration Control and Isolation
  • Wave Propagation
  • Fluid-Structure Interactions
  • Thermo-elastic vibrations and other Coupled Fields
  • Dynamics of Rotating Systems
  • Structural Health Monitoring and Damage Detection
  • Experimental Techniques
  • Energy Harvesting
  • Inverse Problems


ICoEV events are structured into plenary and specialist sessions in which plenary, invited and contributing lectures are given.  In addition poster sessions are run for postgraduate students and younger researchers. During ICoEV 2020 two prizes will be awarded for young researches for the best theoretical and applied contributions.


It is our hope that the ICoEV 2020 participants will enjoy and benefit from the conference as it will provide a platform for sharing the cutting edge research and networking with the research leaders. As tangible outcome we plan a few special issues of leading peer reviewed journals.
